Resorts Studio
Philosophy
“Beach” and “ski” often preface the word resort and imply place, action, and mood. Regardless of location or activity, resort means luxury. A resort experience can be a retreat from one’s daily routine and problems or a change of venue for a business meeting or conference. What is called for in either instance is a team who can design and program an experience that feels effortless to the user regardless of setting. MESA’s Resort and Hospitality Studio projects range from rooftop hotel spas and pools in major urban centers to comprehensive resort planning projects in environmentally sensitive and exotic locations.
Approach
Common to all MESA projects is our passion for authenticity and respect for the natural setting and culture of a place. We study each project and site as a layered system that addresses the land, ecosystem, demographics, economics, and cultural influences. MESA’s Resort and Hospitality Studio must also study the effects of these outside influences on the identity that the client wishes to portray in a project. Regardless of setting, our built project will strongly reflect the concept, marketing, and mental image of the resort’s focus.
