Philosophy

As the world’s population increases, we face the complex problem of finding places for people to live. The answer is not as simple as building more buildings because housing also includes economic, ecological, and sociological issues beyond the scope of one developer’s needs. The Community Design Studio at MESA works daily to decipher this dilemma and knows that “every action has a reaction” when it comes to building new communities. We dig for the roots of a place and find appropriate ways to bring forward its cultural heritage in the development’s form, architecture, and use of natural systems.

Approach

MESA’s team of landscape architects links the fine arts and science to design projects that benefit both people and the land. We view each project as land developer, land steward, and homeowner. We understand the economics of real estate, and are judicious with the land and its capacity for tolerating disturbance. With the land developer, we will merchandise a property for a profitable economic return, maximizing land and lot yields while reducing infrastructure costs. Our vision for a high quality of life on each project results in a velocity of sales. MESA’s pre-development and land development services offer a regional perspective while maintaining an understanding of local culture.
